Subject: V8 engine specifications
Message:
I'd like to rebuild the engine in my car but am having difficulty getting basic information such as torque specs, clearances and part sizes.

I quite frankly am up to building an engine and would rather not have to go through a pricey 3rd party to do so.

Is there a manual or some other source of nitty-gritty information about the engine's internals available?

Thank you.

Are we talking about an Aston Martin V8 or a (Aston Martin) LAGONDA V8? If the latter please advise chassis number & your location. Thanks.

That's a right friendly response. Thanks.

I'm talking a 1984 engine from a LAGONDA that has been parted out. Have no idea about chassis number. My location is Central Illinois (and I know about the guy in St. Louis and I don't want to deal with him).

No manual of the type you require exists.
I suggest you direct particular requests on items of engine specification(s) to the Heritage Department of the Factory or the V8 Vantage site, who may be able to help you. Both site addresses are on my Links page.
Can you tell me your engine number? I am interested in finding out about the car it came from. Thanks

I am going ot build a V-8 from scratch. The engine will have a narrow vee, about 20 degrees. Is there a manual that can tell me if I will need a counter-rotating shaft to smooth things out at this angle? Godspeed.

Sincerely, Phil Russell
