I have been led to belive that the Lagonda ( I am contemplating buying a 82)shares many parts with other more everyday cars?,jaguars being mentioned as one.Does anyone have any kind of list of such parts?.Also any tips on good insurance deals?.Any info gratefully received.........Glyn

As far as I know no comparative list exists, although the car may share certain parts with other cars. I assume you are in the UK. Which car are you looking at? Classic Line in Hinckley offer reasonable rates for limited mileage, but there are other specialist insurers/brokers around. Give me a call on 0207 251 4100 if you want to discuss.

Look on pages 121-2 of "Aston Martin and Lagonda (Volume 2: V8 Models from 1970)" by Paul Chudecki, published by Motor Racing Publications in 1990 and currently available from Amazon.

many of the suspension components were indeed jaguar souced so were the brake dics, pads and callipers , the transmision is a chrysler torque flight unit and is fairly bulletproof but can be found in many other cars (american) , pepper pot style alloy wheels were also jaguar sourced
